Resume TV – Live Resume Critiques and Advice – Part 3 of 8

When it comes to resume-crafting advice, we are moving right along. Today, we spent time covering the basics for making a bland resume look much better.

Admittedly, style should (and usually does) take a backseat to substance in a resume. However, an ugly resume does you no favors. The design has to be at least good enough to keep out of the way of your key accomplishments, strengths and value.

As always, audience participation helped make the episode that much better.

You can download the archived episode below. But even better, you can still sign up to be a part of the audience in our next episodes.

We are hosting the series every Tuesday and Thursday morning through October 26, 2010. The program time is 9AM PT, Noon ET). It lasts about an hour, or as long as people want to go.

The future episodes will be on:

  • Tuesday, Oct 19, 2010
  • Thursday, Oct 21, 2010
  • Tuesday, Oct 26, 2010

During the episode, we dissect attendee-submitted resumes formally (using our 51-point system) or informally, chatting about each area. We don’t just tear the resumes down. We show how to build them back up in a stronger fashion.

We reviewed:

  • A gentleman that needs to “dumb down” his experience.
  • A seven-page block of endless text that won’t get read.
  • A couple of resumes that need a lot of tender loving care and style help.

If you would like to have your resume critiqued on the show, please send it directly to resume@resumellow.com

You can have access to the Webinar in a variety of formats. You can watch the video below:
